Born in Manhattan and raised in a Mitchell Lama cooperative on the Upper West Side of New York, Antar is a true New York native. Antar’s first experience in real estate occurred when he purchased his first four-family Brownstone in in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn at 29 years of age. He decided to purchase a Brownstone after watching all too many Spike Lee films while obtaining his master’s degree in music at Brooklyn College during the early 1990’s.
Antar managed the property for the 19 years that he owned it. As a result, Antar has gained a special knowledge with respect to the sale and purchase of townhouses here in Manhattan and in Brownstone Brooklyn. He also has a deep real-life knowledge about landlord / tenant relationships.
Antar is also a trusts and estates and tax attorney. This background allows him to provide thoughtful, non-legal advice with respect to his real estate clients here at BOND New York. Antar’s legal background has also proven helpful in estate sales and other fiduciary-dependent transactions.
He was the founder and president of the very successful Grand Avenue Gates-Putnam Block Association. In addition, Antar served for years as the secretary of the 88th Precinct Community and Youth Council in Brooklyn, New York. As such, he has developed a special knowledge as to how neighborhoods function as it relates to local politics, commerce and safety.
In his free time, Antar enjoys practicing the piano and studying the French language. Antar holds an LL.M in taxation and JD from New York Law School, an MA in piano performance from Brooklyn College, and a BFA in Piano Performance from Purchase College.
