What $3,800/Month Can Rent You Around New York City

12/20/2013, By

Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various New York City neighborhoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Today's price:$3,800/month.

What $3,800/Month Can Rent You Around New York City

↑ In Greenwich Village, this 1BR/1BA does not allow pets, but it does allow people to pay $3,900/month to live in it. The bedroom looks pretty huge and both the kitchen and bathroom have windows.

↑ This 3BR/1BA on the Upper West Side appears to have a positively enormous kitchen, until you realize that that's supposed to be the living room, too. (Tiled living rooms—so homey.) Still, it does have its benefits, such as a dishwasher, washer/dryer, wall-mounted LCD TV, and the three bedrooms. It costs $3,800/month.

↑ On the Lower East Side, a 3BR/2BA with a dishwasher, large common area, and (un-pictured) private backyard, is going for $3,900/month. It's one of those deals where the living room is in the middle with bedrooms all around it, so there probably isn't a lot of natural light there. But still, it's hard to argue with two bathrooms.

↑ In Fort Greene, a brand new, fully renovated 3BR/1BA is going for$3,895/month. It features bay windows, exposed brick, and decorative fireplaces.

↑ This 2BR/1BA on the Upper East Side is claiming to be a 3BR, but made the classic error of including a floorplan. It does have an enormous living room, though, which called be walled-off to create a third bedroom. It's also gut-renovated and asking $3,900/month.

↑ And in Tribeca, a 774-square-foot 1BR/1BA is asking $3,795/month. It has closets, a dishwasher, and all that good stuff.
