Boundaries: An acronym for “Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass” -- Hudson Avenue to Fulton St.; Prospect Street to John Street/East River.
Where Would You Live? Prior to DUMBO’s conversion to an ultra-hip neighborhood it was largely industrial warehouses. These warehouses have been converted to expensive lofts and alongside new development luxury buildings.
Neighborhood Features: The neighborhood has become a premier art districts with St Ann’s Warehouse and A.I.R Gallery; outdoor recreational venues such as Brooklyn Bridge Park; Several eateries have been temporarily shuttered such as River Café because of Hurricane Sandy but there are still some good options like AlMar, Gran Electrica, and Almondine and specialty treats at Jacques Torrres.
