Where Would You Live? There are stylishly restored mansions, luxury high rises, stately townhouses, several of the best coops and condos in Manhattan, as well as plenty of mid-rise and walk up apartment buildings.  Known simultaneously as the most expensive and the most affordable of Manhattan neighborhoods, the Upper East Side has the most residential housing of any area.  In addition to tony Park Avenue and Fifth Avenue properties which consistently break price records, there are lots of affordable rentals as well as coops and condos priced for everyday purchase, mostly east of Third Avenue.
