Last year I decided together with my family that it was time to stop paying rent and buy my own apartment. I met Lilia Berzon through a friend who referred her to me after he successfully bought his apartment with her help. My mom was here to help me out and she didn’t speak any English, but Lilia was super patient and kind. We knew nothing about the market, so in our first meeting, Lilia gave us an overview and also gave me some reading material to educate me even further.

The second time we met, we already started visiting apartments, and every day after looking, Lilia took the time to sit down with us and explain everything about the market, prices, locations, and all the differences between the options we were seeing - and then patiently waited for me to do all the translation for my mom. We saw endless apartments day and night for about 3 weeks and it was pretty intense. Lilia was extremely responsive at any time of the day or night to answer our questions via text, e-mail, and phone. Besides being very knowledgeable, Lilia was very gentle and polite which for me was the number one quality that makes her stand out from the crowd. She never made us feel rushed or pushed us towards something. On the contrary, she guided us to find exactly what we were looking for.

Once we made a decision on what to buy, Lilia helped us every step of the way to do the endless paperwork by guiding and assisting on what, how, and when things were needed. She negotiated the price for the apartment and we got exactly what we could afford. She developed an excellent relationship with all the stakeholders in the process, including the sponsor’s team, my lawyer, and the bank’s team; that alone helped the whole process flow super smoothly.

Believe me, buying an apartment in NYC can be extremely stressful and overwhelming, but Lilia made us feel that she was always there to protect our interests and help us to solve any upcoming issues. In the end, I bought a beautiful apartment and I assure you that I could have never done it without her. I have recently moved to my new home sweet home and I couldn’t be happier! I can’t THANK her enough from the bottom of my heart -- she was definitely my 2016 Guardian Angel!

Lilia made the apartment shopping experience a joy. Once I met her, I immediately had 2 apartments lined up and closed on the first. She was knowledgeable and responsive.
